Mother's Day Mojo

Happy Saturday everyone!  Are you enjoying your weekend?  We are enjoying a beautiful sunny saturday and it's very quiet with only the two boys at home today.  I may even go for a little nap this afternoon since I was up until 1 this morning trying to get this mojo sketch just right and in the end it didn't happen.  That's what happens when I try to mold my favourite things together that don't necessarily work together.  I wanted to use my new PTI set, Basic Grey Wisteria paper and the mojo sketch.  I'm not saying they didn't work at all definitely not as well as I envisioned.  At the very least I have some nice Mother's Day cards for my mother and grandmother.

I do like the top one more for it's stitching, extra layer, and bling.  I like the bottom one for a more simple feel with the texture plate on the background rather than stamping.  Oh well I can't say I didn't try.

Thanks so much for hoping by.  Hope you learned something by my efforts.  Have a fabulous day.

  1. I like them both for different reasons too :) Love the bling on both of them. I know what you mean about fitting into a sketch or certain colours. That's why it's fun to use some of the sketch and make it your own :) Although this doesn't work if it's for a contest week!! LOL I'm loving my new PTI too :) The dies cut like "buttah!" I got all the flower ones plus the Blooms set that goes with them :)

  2. Your paper piecing is fantastic on both of these cards! I enjoy the stitching one just a bit more, I think it is because stitching reminds me of my grandmother and my own mother. Both cards also have a fantastic color combination and I do happen to think that all three elements (the sketch, papers and stamps) work well together. Kudos to you for trying different things!
