Thanks Teacher

Hi Everyone!  We are having our first relaxing day in a couple of weeks so I thought I would share a card I made for my daughters teachers using one of Mercy's Tuesday Sketch.   It's hard to believe that school will be over in just a month or so.  I really am looking forward to the summer.  It will be nice not to have to drive the kids to school and activities and in August we will be living within a 5 minute walk of the water park and come September I'll be able to walk both my Son and Daughter to school.  I'm so excited!!!

Don't you just love the bold and fun colours of the Boyfriend collection by Cosmo Cricket?  It's one of my faves but I don't use it quite as much as I should.  I'm always waiting for the perfect inspiration to use it.  The great thing about not buying anything right now is getting the chance to use up the stuff I do have....I do however miss having some of the newer stuff that looks like it would be so much fun to play with.  But then I remind myself that the manufacturers are always going to be coming out with even more wonderful stuff and that the collections I really like right now might be on sale when I get around to buying them.  It makes my supplies a little dated but I'm not doing this to be published so it doesn't really matter does it?  When I post my cards I like to think I've inspired my blog friends to create with something they've already got stashed away.

How often do you buy supplies?  Do you buy the whole collection or do you just buy the pieces that you really love?  Taking a look at my inventory I'm going to buy only bits and pieces otherwise it just gets hoarded.

  1. Love how your used the stash that you have!! Such a fabulous LO from the sketch. The focal point is perfect for this. I don't buy supplies much....unless it's on sale and only in small doses if it's new stuff. But then again, I go nuts once in a while :)

  2. This is wonderful, Laurel-Lee :D I'm sure the teacher will love it. Those pencils on the side are great and you have used Mercy's sketch wonderfully.

I got your amazing package in the mail on Friday!!! Wow....I am blessed by your kindness...THANK YOU!! It will be a fun project to do with my daughter in the summer time. Your card is gorgeous too!! It's been a really rough few months with hubby's business being hit hard by the Olympics and the economy and to get such lovely goodies almost brought me to tears. Biiiiiig (((hug)))).

Thrilled to hear you will be close to school come the Fall too :D We live less than 5 minutes from school and it is so much fun to be able to walk to school together.

Have a fabulous week ahead and thanks for making my day :D

  3. Laurel, this card is fabulous!!! I absolutely love it!

You should enter this beauty in Gingersnap Creations Spicy Supply Challenge to use pencils. This is just perfect ... here's a link:

LOL, just sharing my addiction to challenges with you! Have a great week, Kiddo!

  4. Love the layers on this beauty! And I don't often buy new supplies, except for a certain stamp manufacturer. I just use what I have in creative ways, or so I'd like to think! I've got this paper too (won it) and haven't broken it open yet, I think it is due to my fear of patterned paper.

  5. Oh this is so sweet. And great use of scraps.

  6. Adorable card, Laural :) Love the paper!! You know me, I buy what I love and can't stop buying PTI even though we have to wait to get it...I do love the little paper pads even though they only have 2 of each papers. I have learned that as much as I love certain papers, there will always be new and just as beautiful ones coming out.
