Flower Picking

This was my effort at the Flower Pot Pocket card found on Splitcoaststampers I don't have a flower die quite yet so I decided to use up some of my SU Die Cut Blooms which are cut from Real Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Bashful Blue textured card stock and come in a variety of sizes and shapes.  I also used:
  • Summer Picnic designer paper,
  • Bashful Blue 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Scallop Circle Punch
  • 5-Petal Punch
  • Scallop Edge Punch
  • 1" and 3/4" circle punches
  • Bashful Blue button
  • So Many Scallop and Little Flowers stamp set
The blue and orange flowers were also sponged on the edges to give it some added depth and texture to make them stand out a little bit more.  I wasn't able to get the card to fit into an A2 envelop without squishing the flowers ridiculously close together so next time I would think about using smaller blooms.  The card looked intimidating to make but after I finished I realized how easy it really was.

  1. What a great card Laural-Lee! I love the colours! I have that DP and those diecuts; you have inspired me to try one... after I get through the cards that need to go out this week! ;) Congratulations on becoming a demonstrator! Good luck! You'll be great!

  3. This is great! Love the flower pot...I was intimidated at first too but the SCS tutorial was great...I made several of these for Mother's Day cards :) I used the layered flowers die on some of them and even some of the felt fusion flowers and large prima flowers from Michaels...adorable!

  4. I thought about using the felt fusion flowers....after I was done! Next time. I also have some bigger paper flowers from MM I could use. I think I will have to make another one when I have time.
