Coffee Anyone?

What would happen if I didn't have my morning coffee in the morning?  I'd probably be pretty cranky....but I'm sure I would survive....there's always tea!  LOL.  Something about a nice warm beverage is just comforting in the morning.  I use to get up a little bit before the kids so I could enjoy a cup in peace but then they just started getting up at the same time so I thought it best to get that extra half hour of sleep.

Anyhow, I saw this Card Pattern sketch and thought it would make a lovely coupon card for a friends birthday.  And then my Verve order arrived in the mail and I set to work.  Here's what I came up with.  I know it's really neutral without any colour but it was meant to remind us of rich dark coffee.  The pocket is hand stitched on the the card so that I didn't have to worry about glue attaching to the coupons.  It also allowed me to make the coupons a bit bigger.  The sponging is done in close to cocoa and while not the best sponge job it works.

Hope you're enjoying a nice relaxing cup  as you read this.  Have a fabulous day!

  7. I love this card, Laural!! I am a tea person and I just love that warm drink in the morning and your card is just as cozy makes me want to get my kettle going :) As for design I think the pocket with the faux stitching and the scalloped border made this card shine, not to mention the pull out tabs. A clever design ;)
